Itinerary

  • Wed 1 Aug — Depart US & Arrive in Lima. Everyone should plan on being at the Wyndham Costa del Sol Lima Airport Hotel today. The hotel is very close to the airport and our in-country support will help with checking in.
  • Thur 2 Aug — Lima to Cusco. After a good breakfast at the hotel, we will take a short flight (90 mins) from Lima to Cusco. Upon arrival in Cusco we will be transfered to our hotel. Optional afternoom walk around the city to see the Koricancha Cathedral or see Inka remains around Cusco. Welcome dinner included.
  • Fri 3 Aug — Rest Day Cusco There are many great activities to do in Cusco
  • Sat 4 Aug — Cusco to Chilipahua. After an early breakfast we will be driven to Paropiso (90 mins) to start our hike. We will hike for about 3 hours gently uphill to the first high point of our hike. (12,500ft). There is a pre-Inca site here that was built by the Waray Culture in 700BC. We then descend for about 40 mins to lunch. It is 2 more hours to our campsite at Chillipahua (11,300 ft). All meals are included
  • Sun 5 Aug — Chilipahua to Ankascocha. Today we will walk about 4 hours to Silque Pass which at 15,000ft is the highest point of our hike. An hour's decsent will get us to our lunch next to the Silque River. Another 3 hours of hiking and we will arrive at our campsite called Ancashcocha Camp (13,860ft). All meals included
  • Mon 6 Aug — Ankascocha to Piscaycucho. After breakfast surrounded by the Wallanay and Veronica Glaciers, we will start our walk following the Silque Valley for at least 5 hours. This is all downhill ending at 12:00pm when we will have lunch next to the Urubamba River. We will take local transportation to Camp Piskaycucho. We will enjoy Pachamanka Authentic Peruvian Cuisine. This is cooked in the traditional Peruvian way with lamb,chicken. Piscaycucho Camp is at 8,600 ft
  • Tues 7 Aug — Piscaycucho to Aguas Calientes. After a private transfer we will catch a train from Ollantaytambo Station and travel 90 minutes to Chachabamba (6,950ft). The short version of the Inka Trail starting from the 104km marker to Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate 9,000ft. First view and introduce of Machupichu 6-8 hours walking. At the end of the day we will take a 30 minute bus ride to Aguas Calientes to the Inkaterra Pueblo Hotel. Bag lunch and dinner included at the hotel.
  • Wed 8 Aug — Aguas Calientes. After a buffet breakfast we will go direct to the bus station and travel to Machupichu Inka Citadel. We will climb the Waynapichu Mountain which is the most popular mountain of the area. It is a 2 1/2 hour round trip.  You have free time and lunch by yourself. We will all meet up at Aguas Calientes Machupichu town to have lunch. We will overnight at the Inkaterra Pueblo Hotel. Dinner is included.
  • Thurs 9 Aug — Aguas Calientes. This is a free day of relaxation. You can rest, relax, shop or go to the sauna for a massage.
  • Fri 10 Aug — Machu Picchu to Cusco. After breakfast we will walk to the station to catch our train for a 2 hour ride to Ollantaytambo. From Ollantaytambo we have a private transfer back to Cusco. We may stop for some Chicha beer or go to the salt mines of Maras that are salt pits. Hotel and farewell dinner included.
  • Sat 11-Aug Cusco to Lima. After breakfast,we will  be driven to the airport  to take our flight to Lima and the Wyndham Costa del Sol Lima Airport Hotel. Depending on the time of your flight back to the US you can either leave your luggage and walk around Lima for a few hours or stay an extra night in the hotel (extra cost) If you are flying out of Lima today you could visit the Larcomar and Miraflores Markets before going on to the airport for your flight back to the US.
  • Sun 12 Aug — Arrive US

Cost: $3,950

Cost Per Person Covers:

  • Domestic round-trip flight from Lima to Cusco
  • All land travel
  • All hotel accommodations (two to a room)
  • All tent accommodations (two to a tent)
  • All meals listed in the itinerary
  • All park fees, bus fees and permits
  • All guides
  • Cooks and assistant cooks
  • Mule Drivers and assistant mule drivers

  • All campsite equipment to include: 2-man tents, dining tents, tables and chairs

Cost Per Person Not Covered:

  • International airfare – approximately $800-$1,500 from the U.S.
  • Approximately $300 per person in tips for hotel staff, bus drivers, mule drivers, cooks and guides
  • Subsequent lodging and food beyond the team itinerary
  • Additional hotel nights
  • All individual drinks either non-alcoholic or alcoholic
  • Single accommodations available for an additional $750 per person
  • Travelers, Medical and Evacuation Insurance
  • If you are a single registering for one of our trips, we will try to accommodate you as a double with the same gender. However, if we are unable to make these arrangements, you will be responsible for the additional fees as a single
